Worms are worms that parasitize the human body. Some of them are not capable of causing serious damage to health, others are quite dangerous. How can a person get a worm? Symptoms suggestive of the presence of helminths are not harmful to everyone. And most importantly, how do you drive these uninvited guests out of your body?
When to suspect worms?
If an adult is worried about constant nausea, headaches, and coughs, they start looking for anything but helminths. Meanwhile, they often lead to the onset of these symptoms. When parasites roll up in the body, they begin to multiply actively, destroying tissues during their lifetime and releasing toxic substances. The number of worms in the human body can reach hundreds or even thousands of individuals. The body tolerates the presence of these "guests" for a while, and then adults develop symptoms of the following worms:
- frequent dry cough that is not cured by syrups and antibiotics;
- bad appetite;
- allergic skin rashes, eczema, hives, acne foci, boils, papillomas;
- prolonged runny nose (no other signs of cold);
- intestinal problems - bloating, constipation;
- decreased immunity and, as a result, frequent acute respiratory infections;
- gnashing of teeth (due to overexertion of the nervous system);
- weakness, irritability, nervousness, depression;
- pain in the joints;
- enlargement of the lymph nodes.
Some types of helminths "report" themselves with specific symptoms. Thus, ascariasis can cause pneumonia, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
If a broad tapeworm has settled in the body, dizziness and abdominal pain will occur. During defecation, fragments of the worm are excreted in the feces. A person who continues to eat as usual will lose weight quickly. Anemia develops later.
The bullworm colonizes in the liver, causing pain in the right hypochondria.
Pinworms cause excruciating itching in the anus. Scratching this site will cause dermatitis and inflammation.
Gnashing of teeth and other symptoms of helminthic infection in children
Children are most susceptible to helminthic invasions, as they often do not follow personal hygiene rules and pull everything into their mouths. The presence of a parasite in the child's body is suspected based on the following indications:
- intense salivation (including during sleep);
- hyperactivity, restless behavior;
- itching in the anus, which makes the child literally unable to sit for a minute;
- increased craving for sweets;
- dry hair and brittle nails;
- exfoliation of the skin on the eyelids;
- anemia of unknown origin;
- lethargy and drowsiness;
- tendency to catch a common cold.
What organs can worms live in?
There are a total of 250 species of worms. They choose different organs for life, such as the kidneys or eyes. Some types of parasites settle in the skin, the muscles. They are even found in the blood. But the majority still live in the gastrointestinal tract.
Very often, worms settle in the human liver. Symptoms of "settling" of the organ do not appear immediately after infection. The first signs of invasion sometimes appear after 6 months. A person suddenly starts to lose weight or gain weight quickly. Eczema and even psoriasis can occur.
Some worms stick to the liver, lead to dysfunction, and cause anemia. Others (such as echinococcus) lift a chitin-like capsule around themselves, which enlarges and disrupts the work of the organ. The person's skin turns yellow, with pain and digestive problems on the right side.
There are also characteristic symptoms of the presence of worms in the liver - chronic fatigue and sleep disturbances between 2 and 3 a. m. when the liver is in an elevated state.
Worm fungi living in the liver can cause asthma.
Worms - fight: medication
Although symptoms are an important factor in the diagnosis of worms in a person, treatment is prescribed only after the results of the tests have been received. Stool tests are most often prescribed. But this is an unreliable method: sometimes parasites can only be detected after 8-10 attempts. A more accurate diagnosis is the vegetative resonance test.
The easiest way to detect worms. To do this, scrape the skin over the anus and examine it under a microscope.
Once the parasite is identified, treatment begins. They are implemented in several stages:
- preparation. This consists of removing (or reducing) the amount of toxic substances - as a result of the vital activity of helminth samples. Use activated carbon for this;
- taking anthelmintic drugs. The use of broad-spectrum anthelmintic drugs has a good effect;
- recovery. The aim of the therapy is to strengthen the immune system (this is done with the help of echinacea), to normalize the intestinal microflora, to restore the liver.
Traditional medicine against worms
If it is decided to use folk remedies to remove worms from a person, the symptoms should also be considered. If there are signs of fungal infection, it is advisable to use garlic, tansy infusion or wormwood.
A popular way to get rid of worms is with garlic milk. Drink with bread and garlic. This preparation is suitable for enema. To do this, 1 tbsp. boil milk with a large head of garlic. Then cool, filter and infuse with such a solution. The procedure is repeated every day for a week.
Folk healers are advised to drink 1 tablespoon on an empty stomach for a month. l. garlic water. 6-8 cloves of garlic should be taken, mashed, mixed with 1 tbsp. chilled boiled water. Filter the solution. You can make microclizers with such water.
Cat litter can also be transferred from cats. This worm is thought to be afraid of grated apples mixed with carrots and tar. Proportion of the pharmaceutical composition: 1 tsp. carrot-apple mixture and 1 drop of tar. Consume on an empty stomach.
To kill the tapeworm, it is enough to drink 1 tablespoon in the morning (on an empty stomach). water in which 1 tsp is dissolved. salt.
If the type of parasite is unknown, but there are signs of any worm in humans (the symptoms of infection with different parasites should not be too different), a preparation can be made that destroys almost all helminths. Mix crushed wormwood, centaury, cumin, ground pumpkin seeds (peeled) in equal proportions. Add 2 parts ground cloves, 4 parts pre-fried flaxseed, ground tansa flower to the ingredients listed. Grind everything in a coffee grinder, pour into a glass jar.
Take such a composition according to the scheme. In 1 day you need to eat 1 tsp. collection 30 minutes before breakfast, drink cold boiled water with honey. It is taken for 2 days in the morning and before lunch. Then eat 1 tsp for 3-7 days. herbal mixture twice a day - before lunch and at bedtime
Most anthelmintics and herbs are highly toxic. Therefore, it is extremely unreasonable to use them without consulting a doctor. Do not self-medicate if the patient is a pregnant woman or a child.
How does the infection occur?
The reasons for the appearance of worms are highly dependent on age. In children, they violate personal hygiene rules and use unwashed vegetables. Adults are often infected in water. Moreover, it is not necessary to drink - just wash the dishes with running water. Worms can enter the human body when consuming meat and fish without the necessary heat treatment. Consumption of lightly salted and raw fish is a common route of infection.
You can become the owner of helminths if you do not wash your hands during outdoor recreation or after gardening and earthworks. Symptoms of worms can also occur in adults after communication with infected people (through dust, air, and hygiene devices).
Workers in livestock farms and meat and fish processing plants are at increased risk of infection.
How not to get worms?
Adherence to personal hygiene rules is the best way to prevent the health of helminths. Wash hands before eating, sitting at a table and using the toilet. Vegetables, fruits, greens should be poured with boiling water and then washed under running water.
The meat and fish must be fried or cooked for a long time, using a separate board to cut them. It is better to stop consuming dry or raw fish. Do not drink water from the tap, and even more so from the river.
Fearing the symptoms of the presence of worms, some people (especially owners of four-legged pets) give and drink the right medications to the child themselves. Such recommendations can be heard from doctors. But it’s much safer if you monitor your hygiene carefully - and you’re not afraid of helminths!
